A Special Place

History

The Taylor School makes its home the historic 1782 farmhouse built by one of the first Minutemen, Captain Oliver Taylor. We have preserved the warmth and character of the house and modernized its infrastructure with a state of the art fire safety system, tempered safety windows, and up to date accessible lavatory, entries and grounds.

Inside

Inside you will find a beautiful and peaceful Montessori work environment full of irresistible learning materials set among furnishings especially designed for children, inviting carpets, reading nooks and warm gathering spaces.

Outside

The space around the house offers daily adventures against a backdrop of old trees and protected wetlands. Outside is an extension of the indoor space and is used fluidly throughout the day when weather permits. The natural playspace incorporates physical challenge, dramatic play, sensory opportunities, a children’s farm, biking boardwalk, and Woodland play area.

Location

TTS is located on an idyllic 2+ acres of farmland at the foot of scenic Hill Road, at the corner of Route 111. We are less than a minute to 495 offering easy access to surrounding towns, metro-west, high tech companies, and Route 2.
